Gearing up in Saskatoon

Saskatoon seems to just be getting going this summer.  With so many city events coming up in the next month it's an exciting time to be here.  There are lots of community events to take in and enjoy with 90% of them being outdoors where people have the chance to see how beautiful this city is.  Whatever you might be doing this summer, events in Saskatoon, road trips to the lake with family or going for a ride on your bike, take a second to look around and appreciate this great city and province we have.  Happy Wednesday everyone...Friday is just around the corner! Summer's Not Over!

It's hard to believe it's nearing the end of July...Good thing we still have all of August to enjoy our summer.  Before you know it school will be back in and the days will be getting cooler and leaves will be turning. Motorcycle Training

If you're thinking about getting your Motorcycle licence you should make sure you're up to date on the new regulations regarding the motorcycle graduated licence from SGI.  Under the program, it is strongly recommended that you successfully complete an SGI-approved motorcycle training course prior to operating a motorcycle as a Learner. Introducing "On the Road Program" Motorcycle Training and Bike Rentals

Introducing the "On the Road Program" that is available for riders who have completed a certified SGI training program such as the "Gearing Up Program" listed below. This program will consist of 2 hours of theory with up to 8 hours of actual on the road rider training. This program will allow riders with learners to learn right and left hand turning on roadways, stopping and starting in real life traffic conditions, bike positioning with lane blocking and safety techniques. This Program is is available on a demand basis. As an added feature motorcycles are now available to rent for road testing for individuals who qualify. Maximum Training Motorcycle Division Will be offering the Gearing Up Program starting May 1st,  2011. Our staff is composed of very experienced Chief and Senior Instructors for the Canada Safety Council. Maximum Training is Celebrating its 10th Year of Business Success and to go along with this celebration, Maximum Training has also been awarded the Consumer Choice  Award for the 2010 and 2011.  With the delivery of the Gearing Up Program, coupled with our success in customer service, our clients will be able to achieve their goals to be a safe motorcycle enthusiast.

The Gearing Up Program and brand has been in operation for 37 years.  It's being used across the country and Maximum Training is proud to be a part of that national network. Over 500,000 people have taken the course since it started in 1974.

Our staff is composed of very experienced Chief and Senior Instructors for the Canada Safety Council. With the delivery of the Gearing Up Program, coupled with our success in customer service, our clients will be able to achieve their goals to be a safe motorcycle enthusiast. The Canada Safety Council Gearing Up Program curriculum is tried and proven. The Gearing Up Program and brand has been in operation for 37 years. Motorcycle Training

Our mission is to provide a comfortable, supportive environment wherein you, can safely learn to ride a motorcycle. No previous experience necessary! We are proud to offer small classes for students with qualified instructors to ensure individual attention.  We provide the motorcycles on a paved parking lot.

The courses are either week long (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings) or weekend (Friday evening, all day Saturday and Sunday).  This format is for May, June and July only.  August and September the courses are weekend only.  Course schedules are subject to change.

What you will need is:

  • Valid driver’s license (a motorcycle learner’s license is preferred but not mandatory)
  • Durable jacket (leather or jean)
  • Jeans – full length
  • Gloves that cover your wrists
  • Boots that cover your ankle (no flat leather soles, high heels)
  • Eye protection
  • D.O.T approved helmet
  • To be present 15 minutes before class start if possible
  • A positive fun attitude

The cost for the course will be $450.00.  We will gladly take cash, credit cards or cheques.  Course location will be at 2301 Millar Ave in the Trinity Safety Building for theory, and Lawson Heights Mall for practical training.
